Mohave Colors

In the distant desert haze

With arms seemingly up raised

Stands a figure that says safe and free

And those that came to claim it

Finally came to name it, the Joshua Tree

Come walk thru the poppies with me

No ordinary Flowers are these

Their beauty enhanced by a rippling dance

Brought on by the soft desert breeze

The magnificent Mohave springtime

That only shows itself now and then

So listen and watch — make sure when

That you are there when colors are in rhyme

A beautiful palette of stunning colors

Spreads across the sandy Mohave Earth

No wonder that when mother natures time came

She chose this colorful spot to give birth
