Maybe at our place if it\u2019s not too hot anymore.\u00a0 Please check the website or call us a few days before the meeting.<!--more--><\/li>\n<li><strong>Lake Mead Community Center \u2013 our non profit<\/strong>: Carolyn and I just had a meeting and we decided to rename the non profit because it\u2019s highly unlikely that we\u2019ll actually get a \u201ccenter\u201d and we really won\u2019t need one after the MCA is dissolved (hopefully soon) and we can finally use the former MCA facilities, big screen TV, etc.\u00a0\u00a0 We might change the name from \u201ccenter\u201d to \u201corganization.\u201d\u00a0 For those of you out of the loop, I had resigned as director of the organization last November due to irreconcilable differences with Helene.\u00a0 She never did anything with the non profit and finally handed everything over to me.We\u2019ll be organizing a food co-op and other community activities under the umbrella of the non profit.\u00a0\u00a0 We can use the farm stand to distribute orders and our biggest problem is the lack of a fuel efficient vehicle.\u00a0 With our truck getting only 10 mpg, we can&#8217;t afford many trips to bring food to Meadview. Please contact us for more info and if you would like to become involved.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fundraising:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Right now we have $90 cash on hand, but we still have to reimburse Carolyn and Helene for the incorporation expenses.\u00a0 Once that\u2019s paid off, we plan on raising funds for gardening equipment, brix meter, materials for a state of the art aerated tea brewer, microscope, professional sprayer, etc. for use by the gardening club members.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Meadview<\/span><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Community<\/span><\/strong><strong><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Church<\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Thanksgiving crafters market<\/span><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0 That\u2019s where the $90 cash came from.\u00a0 The crafters voted last year to donate the $5 table fees to the non profit.\u00a0 This Thanksgiving we\u2019ll probably have two tables there, one for the gardening club with gardening literature and plants etc. for sale and the proceeds going to the non profit and one for our business and YOUR plants or \u201cstuff\u201d for sale for some extra Christmas money.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Co-ops and buying club:<\/span><\/strong><strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>We\u2019re getting ready for another order from the <strong>Frontier Coop<\/strong> (bulk spices, herbs, tea and natural cleaners, etc.)\u00a0\u00a0 There is another group of people in Meadview that orders every month from the <strong>Azure Standard Coop.\u00a0 <\/strong>They deliver organic produce, fruit, flour, etc. to Kingman.\u00a0 I\u2019ll talk to them about the possibility of ride sharing and helping with loading.\u00a0 <strong>Bountiful Baskets<\/strong> is another coop that now delivers to the Dolan Springs chamber every couple weeks.\u00a0 I doubt we can get them to deliver to Meadview, but maybe we can arrange to pick up in Dolan.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The farm stand:<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0We still need more pallet boards.\u00a0 Met a very nice farming couple from near Fresno at the Henderson market and we might be able to get their leftover fruit and veggies cheap on Friday afternoons to sell here on Saturdays.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Dolan Orchard update:<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0Cloyd has LOTS of apples and quince and pears &#8211; call Cloyd at 928-767-3582<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Drip irrigation \u2013 automated watering:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 We\u2019ll probably order a T-Tape watering kit to replace the soaker hoses.\u00a0 The more expensive Home Depot soaker hoses with a 7 year warranty are no better than Big Lots.<\/li>\n<li>All of a sudden we have purslane and Malabar spinach volunteers after not being able to grow them from seed.
