From the DSCC newsletter:

The planning for the DSCC Christmas Dinner has brought us to the big day, Wednesday December 25th. This is only possible due to the generosity of the community in providing products and $, and most importantly because of our volunteers who generously give their time, energy and $ to serve our guests for dinner. We live in a wonderful town with caring people.

Here is a historic Dolan Springs history question: In what year did the first Dolan Springs free Christmas Day dinner Begin? In talking with Kathy and Gerilynn, I learned the Baptist Church held the first Dolan Springs free Christmas Day dinner somewhere in the mid-late 90’s. It then passed onto the Dolan Springs Community Council to hold the Dinner about 1997? Anyone with more definitive information about the exact date of the first Dolan Springs free Christmas Day dinner please let me know.

Christmas Day Dinner is from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., or before if the food runs out. Come down to DSCC to have a fabulous dinner: Ham, Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Yams, Dressing, Green Beans, Pickles, Rolls, Butter, Cranberry Sauce, Beverages and Pies, Pies and Pies (Fruit, and Crème). There will be entertainment by Angie Bain.

Also, if you know of anyone medically homebound, check with them to see if they would like Christmas Dinner delivered to them. Then let us know so no one goes without Christmas Day dinner. Contact Chris White who is keeping that list; call/text her at 928-727-9397 before December 24th.

Thank you, Charlotte and the many volunteers!

Merry Christmas — Happy Holidays!
